Nils Ole Dalby
Danish
22 years flying hang gliders
10 years as a competition pilot
What’s your best individual result?
Coming fourth in the 2007 British Nationals.
Your best flying experience?
Hmm, I think flying in Owens Valley, California, in the wild, wild country is the biggest nature experience I’ve had. My favourite flying site in the world, if the weather is really good of course, is Vågå in Norway. Otherwise Laragne is a close second.
What’s your best team result?
Oh boy, I cant remember, I’m sure this will be the best year for the Danes ever - we'll be placed in the top at this competition.
Have you flown Laragne before?
I flew at the Europeans in 1994 here – it’s one of the best sites I’ve ever flown. The flying is logical with many options in choice of route.
Your expectations for the pre-worlds 2008?
Having a super-duper time in a friendly and highly competitive environment.
Your life in brief?
I live in wonderful Copenhagen, and am still single. I’m a neuroscientist in a pharmaceutical company (electrophysiology). And can you believe it: I actually haven’t got a tattoo!
