CIVL Officials appointed

The CIVL-appointed Jury and Stewards have now been selected for the 17th FAI World Hang Gliding Championships, to be held here in Laragne, France in June. As already planned, Flip Koetsier (NL) will be the CIVL Steward. Flip was in attendance at the pre-Worlds, and the organisers have been working closely with him since last year, discussing a number of minor improvements that can be made. The Jury President will be John Aldridge (GBR), vice president of CIVL and the Sporting Code – Section 7 guru. Probably the most experienced HG Jury President! Assisting him will be Scott Torkelsen (DNK), an experienced Steward and Jury Member, but his first time at a Hang Gliding competition; and also Kurt Meyer from Guatemala, a hang gliding enthusiast and welcome volunteer joining the ranks of Jury members. We extend a special welcome too, to Françoise Dieuzede-Banet (FRA), France’s top female hang gliding pilot, who will be shadowing Flip as a trainee Steward.
